Master Musician

I’ve now finished Master Musician (going up next week) and I’ve added a new page which will be up tomorrow.

Not to forget a New Track that I’ve added to my Virb Player called Trumpet Soloist Samples. So you can check that out as well. It’s a few sample clips fomr the solo recordings I made last year that I’ve finally get round to mixing down.

My next aim is to carry on and mix down the other recordings that I made from that session. These include music from the Quarter Tones, Ben Kennedy, Sarah Broder and The Fanfare Lads. The problem is it’s such a time consuming process I can either do the Eurobusk footage first or the mixing. I haven’t decided which yet. I’ll let you know.

This has been the longest gap between posts since I started blogging. Sorry.

Things have been busy. I had a terrible gig in Cardiff where the band get soaked to the bone, my Tom Tom caught on fire whilst I was driving (I’m trying to get that fixed) and my Mac has had a knock and doesn’t want to eat CD’s anymore (another fun thing to sort out).

On top of that I’ve been looking at places to live in London with my flat mates and seeing just how much it’s going to hurt my bank account. London is pr-eeetty expensive - of course I’m expecting to walk straight into regular and highly paid wonder gigs the second I get down there : P .

Oh, AND: I’m currently waiting to see if I can get my money back from the store I bought my mic’s from (the one’s that never arrived). Until that’s resolved I can’t get my recording kit together to start recording myself more and to get my podcast out. That’s pretty frustrating.

I’ll find some other content in the meantime. Incidentally Master Musician (my animation) is finished - I’m taking some time away from it before I put it up to make sure it’s polished up properly.

I haven’t forgotten about updating the theme of my site either nor that I will try to get a search bar put in and Re-Categorize/ Tag my more interesting past posts so that they’re easier to find.  Again these are all things that will be up in the near future.

I have a wedding and a big band gig this weekend with my old outfit; The Big Swing. So I’ll have lots to post over the weekend. Till then keep Reading, Watching (Video’s) and Listening (My Player).

This gym stuff hurts. Another 10 miles and then those terrible sit up things with Pete but I have to say my playing has improved. I just find everything a little easier - now this may be due to “good day syndrome” and have nothing to do with healthy changes. But still , it’s pretty cool.

I’m down for an orchestral gig on Saturday which is all over the stave, so I hope my good form continues as it has to be classically high rather than Big Band high (which I find a but harder).

I’ve had some troubles with the company I bought my mic’s etc off so I’m currently waiting for my money back before I try again. So you’ll have to wait for recordings to be posted.

On the plus side Master musician shoots are going well and should be up in the very near future and after hearingChris Lydon’s reaction to his first viewing of the Eurobusk 07 trailer over the phone I think I’ll put up the second trailer next week.
