A Weird Driving Experience
You know when you think about something random and an event follows which is linked to that thought directly after? I know this phenomenon probably happens a lot and probably you have these thoughts so often that statistically it would probably less likely that it wouldn’t happen in your life . . . but it’s still a little strange.
I was driving to Brum this morning when my mind drifted to a time where I was on the way to a gig with my mates Jim and Rick (brass section of a big band I used to play lead for) and we were driving down the motorway. Jim was driving when a guy in the slow lane started to move into the side of our car. Jim swerved and blew his horn and everyone was okay.
We talked about it after and discussed what the best thing to do was. Do you keep a straight line and try to reduce your speed? He’ll hit you but you won’t sewrve into ayone in the fast lane. Or do you swerve and try to get out his way (whilst blowing the horn). It could mean that no one gets hurt or it could mean that you cause an accident in the fast lane.
Just as I was reliving that conversation in my mind a guy pulled out towards me from the slow lane. I pulled my car as far into the right of the middle lane as I could and banged my horn. I don’t know how the guy missed, he must have been a matter of inches from the side of my car, but I’m sure if I hadn’t of moved into the side of my lane he would have hit me. If I’d pulled into the fast lane I could have hit someone else. The scary thought is if I hadn’t been thinking about that conversation I could have been in an accident.
That’s a nice thought as your hurtling down the Motorway at 70 mph in a tin can.
What a strange drive to work
This is Matt Roberts Music, the blog of professional trumpet player, composer and blogger Matt Roberts. Currently under redesign but fully functioning.

Hey Matt, it’s looking really smart here. And thank God you weren’t hit. That was weird though, a bit of a twilight moment.
Tell me about it !! Bit strange.
Your site is looking pretty mighty! I’ll keep my eye on your adventures. Best of luck taking over the world
