It’s the first one in a while now. I’ll be playing some Handel (all over the stave) and Mozart later (shouldn’t be too tricky).
It’s nice to have a change from weddings, big bands and shows now and again but I don’t think I could hack the orchestral life for the long term. It just doesn’t suit me. With a little luck it should be a good gig.
To be more exact I’ve scheduled the trailer to be up next Wednesday. Without giving to much away this trailer is completely different from the first. Obviously it has the same clowns in it but it’s more of a spoofy kind of video.
You’ll enjoy it.
I also invested in a great piece of software for podcasting. Now all I need are the dam microphones!! I’ll keep you posted on that.
This gym stuff hurts. Another 10 miles and then those terrible sit up things with Pete but I have to say my playing has improved. I just find everything a little easier - now this may be due to “good day syndrome” and have nothing to do with healthy changes. But still , it’s pretty cool.
I’m down for an orchestral gig on Saturday which is all over the stave, so I hope my good form continues as it has to be classically high rather than Big Band high (which I find a but harder).
I’ve had some troubles with the company I bought my mic’s etc off so I’m currently waiting for my money back before I try again. So you’ll have to wait for recordings to be posted.
On the plus side Master musician shoots are going well and should be up in the very near future and after hearingChris Lydon’s reaction to his first viewing of the Eurobusk 07 trailer over the phone I think I’ll put up the second trailer next week.
I’ve just set in motion my new animated video series which will be featured on the site. I’ll only go as far as disclosing the name as; Master Musician. You’ll have to wait for more.
But you won’t have to wait too long for the Second Eurobusk Trailer which will be released sometime over the next 10 days (if you haven’t seen the First follow this Eurobusk Link).
So you have lots to look forward to and don’t forget that there’s lots of pictures videos and post to look back on through the archives of this site. Feel free to comment on anything that takes your fancy - I always reply - and feel free to email me with anything that you are interested in or would like to discuss.
Andy Crowley got in touch with me through my post on Danny Elfman and he even showed me his fantastic dissertation on Danny Elfman’s film scores. Unfortunately for Andy his work was so good I wasn’t able to give him a great deal of constructive criticism :). I hope you do well with it Andy.
And finally:
I’m still waiting for my recording equipment in the post but when it eventually arrives I can sort out a studio date with Mr Dave Livesey for our Podcast. Feel free to email myself or Dave with any topics you’d like to hear discussed on our podcast!!
Well actually it took about an hour and 10 minutes for me to run 10 k at the gym the other day. As of yet there’s little to no difference in my trumpet playing. Then again I should try to go more than once a week… and perhaps not have a beer afterwards.
Just a short post today I’m afraid. I’ve been playing a wedding gig in the sweltering heat and just arrived back to clean up Liberty City.
With the miles my little car is doing I can’t believe it’s still running. I seem to spend most of my life in the car at the moment. I opened the passenger door the other day to a footwell of breakfast bars, sandwich cartons, lucozade and water bottles.
I’ve got to keep up my exercise or I’ll turn into a fatty.
So after driving nearly 500 miles over over the past 5 days what would you do with your day off?? If you thought anything other than spend it in a car you’d be wrong.
Thankfully I’m not driving as my good friend Ash is helping me move my rubbish out of storage prior to my move to London in a few months. He’s a life saver as my little car would take three trips of 90 miles rather than 1 in his big car!!
Still, if he still had is TVR we could make it in half the time .
I’ve recently been going to the gym with my old pal Pete. Quite frankly he’s a sadist. the last time we went I did an 8 mile run and afterwards he made me do these ridiculous sit-ups where he would throw what looked like a football (which was heavier than a bowling ball) at me whilst I was doing it. The lad is far too fit.
The theory is that increasing core muscles around the torso and doing “cardio” (i.e. running lots) should increase my lung capacity and improve my endurance and range.
That’s the theory. The problem is by the time I’m done I’m too exhausted to practice.
I’ll sort something, but it better be worth it. My free time is sparse and I could be using it to take down bad guys in Liberty City.
